Does a gas fire need to be installed by a Gas Safe engineer?
Yes. By law, any gas appliance including a gas fire must be installed and connected to the gas supply by a Gas Safe registered engineer. It is illegal and dangerous for anyone else to do it.
Do I need my chimney swept before a gas fire is installed?
The chimney or flue must be clear and in good condition before a gas fire is installed. We inspect the flue as part of the installation. If it needs sweeping we can advise and arrange this.
What types of gas fire can you install?
We install all types of gas fire including inset gas fires, outset gas fires, wall mounted gas fires, balanced flue gas fires, flueless gas fires and conventional flue gas fires.
Can I have a gas fire if I don't have a chimney?
Yes. Balanced flue gas fires vent through an external wall and do not need a chimney. Flueless gas fires need no flue at all but require adequate room ventilation.
How long does a gas fire installation take?
A straightforward gas fire installation into an existing fireplace opening typically takes 1 to 2 hours. Installing a new flue liner, balanced flue or gas supply will take longer.
